DIANA LOBONTIU

Diana Lobontiu is a Romanian American playwright, actor, administrator, and educator based in Brooklyn. They are an Adjunct Professor in playwriting. They are interested in exploring the intersections of masculinity, dominance + oppression, failure and loneliness. Diana is a member of the Fresh Binder Spring 2025 Cohort, was named a MacDowell Fellow, a Jane Hoppen Resident with Paragraph Workspace for Writers, and received the Puffin Grant.

Recent writing includes Bump—>Set—>Spike—>Bruise (The 50th Annual Concord Theatricals Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival), My Cousin Nelu Is Not Gay (Published @1319 Press, The Brick Theater, Ars Nova’s ANT Fest), Rentabutch (Bushwick Starr Reading Series Finalist), and If You’re A Man At Night…You Gotta Be A Man In The Morning (The Brick Theater, The Workshop Theatre). Diana has performed their solo show Sfânta: Hell Bent on Heaven, about a teenage wannabe Russian Orthodox saint, at the Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Kalamazoo, Oregon, and Orlando Fringe Festivals.
